Gympie Town Hall Embankment Stabilisation

Project Scope

A large retaining wall had collapsed following the 2022 Floods at the Gympie Town Hall Carpark. SCS were engaged for the design and construct of the remediation of the wall. The construction works included removal of the existing collapsed retaining wall and any sections of wall that were compromised. Construction of a new grouted rock retaining wall and rock pitching to match the existing wall and surrounds. Design required significant geotechnical, structural and civil investigations which were utilised in our final reconstruction design. Works were staged to reduce opening up large sections of the existing failed embankment, which could have caused larger problems. The works were completed with a full asphalt re-seal of the carpark with new linemarking.
